The ILCA was founded as the Institute of Legal Cashiers in 1978 by a small group of cashiers working in solicitors' practices who believed there was a need to establish and maintain standards for legal bookkeeping - hence the motto: "Diligentia, Vigilantia" - "diligence and vigilance".
LEGAL ABACUS reports on the activities of the ILCA and provides news and information for all staff who deal with the finance and administration of a legal practice. It also provides a platform for members to air their views and exchange ideas, as well as acting as a lively forum for debate.
LEGAL ABACUS positively encourages participation and contributions from its readers and is constantly looking for new ideas and talent. There is also a healthy Classified Section with freelance members, recruitment consultants, solicitors practices and computer companies all taking advantage of the extremely competitive advertising rates to reach the magazine's wide readership.
